kids' opinions

On Love: "It gives me a headache to think about that stuff. I'm just a kid. I don't need that kind of trouble." --Kenny, age 7

On Kissing: "It's never OK to kiss a boy. They always slobber all over you. That's why I stopped doing it." --Tammy, age 10

On Love: "I think you're supposed to get shot with an arrow or something, but the rest of it isn't supposed to be so painful." --Manuel, age 8

On Love: "On the first date, they just tell each other lie and that usually gets them interested enough to go for a second date." --Mike, age 10

On Kissing: "If it's your mother, you can kiss her any time. But if it's a new person, you have to ask permission." --Roger, age 6

On Beauty: "If you want to be loved by somebody who isn't already in your family, it doesn't hurt to be beautiful." --Anita, age 8

On Relationships: "Don't forget your wife's name. That will mess up the love." --Erin, age 8

On Science: "The wind is like the air, only pushier." --Lori, age 8

On Kissing: "You should never kiss a girl unless you have enough bucks to buy her a big ring and her own VCR, 'cause she'll want to have videos of the wedding." --Jim, age 10

On Relationships: "Tell your wife that she looks pretty even if she looks like a truck!" --Ricky, age 7

On Love: "No one is sure why it happens, but I heard it has something to do with how you smell. That's why perfume and deodorant are so popular." --Mae, age 9

i may be psycho but i do not trust the male species as a whole. i have been conditioned to dislike and be weary of them, with comments of how untrustworthy and dangerous they are. i hope i can, just trust some. it does not help that it is late and i am pulling into my driveway and some guy who does not live in my neighborhood is standing in the street, like he's waiting for something, and whistling. loser. bah. i cannot help but judge him. and i practically ran into my house and locked up all my doors.

i was with a friend, mind, and her sister kath and kath's friend avelina. we went to avelina's house. and her dad had been with us on our thrift store outing. but when we left avelina's house, she spoke in spanish and the only thing i picked up was, "yo te amo." and i thought that was the sweetest thing ever. it struck me as the most beautiful thing i have heard in a while. i later found out that she is 25 and single, living at home with her father because she has to take care of him; he has alheimzers disease.

yo te amo.
